Allen Gallery exhibits the work of emerging and mid career artists in a variety of media.  The majority of the artists are New York based.  The gallery opened December 2006 in New York 's Chelsea art district.

Director Michel Allen completed a Masters in Visual Art and Business Administration from New York University . Michel has a certificate in appraisals from NYU and has passed her USPAP exam. Before working at Allen Gallery , Michel worked at artnet.com, ART + AUCTION, and Sotheby's in trust and estates. While working in art publishing, Michel was an art consultant and represented several artists.

Michel has been actively volunteering for Art In General since 2002, co-chairing the well known studio tours, and of this fall 2007 is on the committee for the 25th Anniversary benefit.  www.artingeneral.org

Michel has also been recently selected to join ArTTable, The Professional Organization for Women in the Arts.

 In the last year, Allen Gallery has exhibited in , worked with Kemble Interiors on 10 West End Avenue Showhouse, Curated a show for Brunschwig & Fils in New York and Philadelphia, and most recently spoke at SVA’s Artist Talk on Art. The gallery director was hired as a curator by Hearst Magazine Group.

Gallery Director, Michel Allen is a member of the following in New York : ArTTable, Moma, Art In General, Bronx Museum and Power House Memphis , (Powerhouse is affiliated with Delta Axis.)

Michel Allen being originally from Memphis has curated shows in the south as well as in Philadelphia , Chicago and London .

In 2008 Allen Gallery has had editorial in the following publications: The Art Newspaper (TAN), Cranes: New York, London’s Arts Journal, Photograph, Chelsea Clinton News and House Beautiful.

JK LAWSON will be exhibiting NO MANS LAND in conjunction with his opening book signing at the DYLAN THOMAS CENTER in SWANSEA, WALES, opening reception July 9th.

JK LAWSON has been awarded artist residency at the Sante Fe Institute of Art for the, paid in part by a grant from the Krasner Pollock Foundation.

JIM NAPIERALA was trained as a sculptor and art historian who is essentially a self-taught painter. His multi-layered acrylic paintings continue his distillation of modernist painting strategies as conceptual basis for his work, which he began shortly after the turn of the millennium. His work has been exhibited at several galleries, as well as the Whitney Museum Branches, and is represented in numerous private and corporate collections. Jim is currently working on a new body of work, The Modern Dance, which will be his second exhibition at the Allen Gallery.
Along with fellow artist Scott Pfaffman, he recently organized Mock, Stock, & Barrel: an Artists’ Tribute to Richard Mock at Galeria los Smartskieros in East Harlem.

JOSETTE URSO has just received her second Pollock-Krasner Foundation award.
